What is Matrix/Element?

Matrix is an open protocol for decentralized, secure communication. Think of it as email for chat - no single company controls it.

Element is the most popular client for Matrix (like Gmail is for email, or Outlook for Exchange).

Create Your Element Account

Step-by-Step Setup:

1. Go to element.io
2. Click Get Started
3. Choose Create Account
4. Select a homeserver (matrix.org is fine for beginners)
5. Choose username and password
6. Verify your email address
7. Download Element app (recommended) or use web version

• No install needed
• Works on any device
• Good for trying out
